Fire Department Visits

UOn Wednesday, October 21, the Chadron Fire Department came to CIS to talk to us about Fire Safety and prevention.  We sat in their simulation trailer and learned about the fire triangle.  A fire needs three things, fuel, heat, and oxygen or air.  We looked at fire hazards in the trailer, learned about different types of smoke alarms, and practiced crawling to a safe exit.  Smoke poured in to the trailer as we called out for help.  The fireman told us to crawl single file touching the shoes of the person ahead of us.  Coughing ( from the simulation smoke) we bravely crawled our way to a window in the back and safely escaped the ( simulation) fire.  We met together on the sidewalk to account for everyone.  What a great learning adventure we had.  Now we know what to do in the event of a fire.  Thank you Firemen!!
